Black Forest Eyewear is celebrating a special anniversary this year

Ten years ago, the brand was launched by the Freiburg-based family business Marion Ramm GmbH. Founded in 1972 by Marion Ramm and her daughter Anneke Ramm-Mordelt, the company has built a strong reputation over the decades for fashionable and colorful eyewear design.

 

In 2015, with the introduction of Black Forest Eyewear by Cathrin Mordelt, the founder’s granddaughter, a new era began—one that reflects the diversity and creativity of the Black Forest.

What could be more fitting than to draw inspiration from the very region where we live—world-renowned and beloved: the Black Forest.


Inspired by the nature that surrounds us and a collection defined by wood-look designs, the idea was born to name the new collection Black Forest.


Over the past ten years, Black Forest Eyewear has established itself as a recognized name in the eyewear industry through innovative designs and high-quality materials, uniting a love of nature with a contemporary lifestyle.

Trend awareness shapes everything we do – sustainability and social responsibility have always been guiding principles at Marion Ramm. All promotional materials are produced in Europe, mostly in Germany.

Wood-based promotional materials are manufactured near Freiburg by a non-profit organization, and our packaging is being progressively replaced with recyclable alternatives.
